    MYTHS & FACTS

    Myth - It is all work and no play.

    Fact - Although law school includes a lot of coursework and readings,  you are allowed a social life and maintaining a work-life balance is important for consistent results. 

    Myth - It is too competitive to even try.

    Fact - Unquestionably, securing a training contract or pupillage is the hardest part at law school but it also equips you with transferable skills. This includes legal research, critical analysis, and essay writing, among others which can be applied in diverse fields to achieve success in any shape or form.

    Myth - Your career prospects is solely based on your law school's ranking.

    Fact - Although studying in a top ranked law school has it's fair share of advantages, there are many factors that contribute to your individual success such as networking,internships and extracurricular activities. 

    Myth - You should know what area of law you want to practice before enrolling.

    Fact - At university, you'll come across many law students who have no idea what area of law they would like to practice in the future. Nonetheless, law school exposes you to a wide range of courses and experiences offering a broad curriculam to help students find their area of interest. 

    Myth - Law school is basically 'Suits'.

    Fact - As much as everyone wants to believe this myth, it's far from reality and includes significantly more work. It is important to remember that TV shows are meant for entertainment purposes and does not accurately represent real life situations.

    Myth - An underwhelming grade on your coursework or exam defines you.

    Fact - If you didn't perform as well as you thought during your first semester, it doesn't mean the next semester will have a similar outcome. It's all about taking it a step further whether it's doing extra reading or taking advantage of office hours, it's not over until you believe it is.
